Enchanted Cruise: A Fantasy Ball at Sea is a different kind of themed voyage — not a gaming or convention cruise, but a seven-night, Regency-meets-fae costume-and-storytelling vacation for readers, cosplayers, and anyone who has ever wanted to step into a ballroom scene. Organized by Event Cruises (the team behind GACUCON, D20 Cruise, and Battle Barge), it sails May 21–28, 2027 aboard Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas, round trip from Cape Liberty in New Jersey, with stops at Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.
The program is built around a Regency and Victorian fantasy aesthetic. Included with the Enchanted Cruise event pass are Grand Regency dance workshops, curated afternoon tea sessions, Victorian ghost stories told by candlelight, historical fashion panels and style workshops, and sessions on etiquette and social graces. The Royal Fae Court Experience adds a living fantasy narrative that runs across the whole voyage, and the schedule rounds out with hands-on crafts and artisan workshops, live music and evening performances, fencing lessons at sea, and fantasy photography sessions.
That mix is unusually participatory. Rather than watching panels from the audience, attendees learn the dances, practice the etiquette, and dress the part. (The organizer's page does not spell out a single headline ball night, so check the final schedule for the formal events.)
Oasis of the Seas is one of Royal Caribbean's largest ships, built around seven themed neighborhoods, including Central Park, an open-air garden at the heart of the vessel that makes a fitting backdrop for costume photography, and the AquaTheater, home to the ship's performances.
It is aimed at readers of Regency romance and romantasy, costume and historical-fashion enthusiasts, and cosplayers who prefer a ball gown to a battle suit — though anyone who enjoys dressing up and learning something new will fit in. Because the focus is participation, you will get the most from it if you are comfortable being social and trying a dance step in public.
Practical notes: the event pass is $600, and cabin-plus-pass bundles in Event Cruises' store start around $1,517 for one guest in an interior cabin, rising with cabin category and additional guests. The itinerary is a classic Bahamas loop from the New York area, so you can reach the Cape Liberty terminal without flying to Florida. Confirm the age policy and exactly what the pass includes at booking, since Event Cruises sailings vary by theme, and book early — themed sailings like this one fill up.
