Argentina Comic Con is one of the largest pop-culture events in South America, and the biggest in the Spanish-speaking part of the continent. BA Ferial / Costa Salguero sits along the Río de la Plata toward Palermo and Recoleta, reachable by taxi, app-based rides or bus from central Buenos Aires; the city's Ezeiza international airport and the closer Aeroparque handle arrivals. December is early summer in Buenos Aires — warm, long-dayed and pleasant — so it's a fine time to build a longer trip around the show. Tickets are sold through the official site and Argentine ticketing partners such as Ticketek, with day and weekend passes plus premium and VIP tiers; popular days can sell out, so book ahead.

And Buenos Aires is one of South America's great city breaks, so the con pairs beautifully with a proper holiday.
