CCXP — Comic Con Experience — is the largest pop-culture festival in the world by attendance, and the crown jewel of Latin America's geek calendar. Recent editions have drawn well over 280,000 people to São Paulo Expo across four days; the 2026 edition runs December 3–6. Founded in 2014 and built along the lines of San Diego Comic-Con but on a Brazilian scale, CCXP spans comics, film and television, games, anime, literature and internet culture, and it has become a genuine global stop for major studio panels and world-first reveals.
The programming is the main draw. CCXP's colossal main stage — the Palco Thunder — hosts Hollywood and streaming panels with international talent, exclusive trailers and announcements, the kind of reveals that make global headlines the next morning; studios increasingly treat it as a key date on the worldwide promo circuit. Around that headline spectacle you'll find an Artists' Alley packed with Brazilian and international creators, a vast exhibitor floor of publishers, studios, and toy and collectible brands, a huge games area with hands-on demos and esports, and one of the most passionate cosplay communities anywhere. It is a full-sensory, four-day marathon, and pacing yourself matters.
São Paulo Expo sits in the south of the city, in Água Funda, and has its own station on Metro Line 1, so you can reach it from central São Paulo without a car. The city's airports — Guarulhos (international) and Congonhas (domestic) — connect it to the rest of Brazil and the world, and São Paulo itself is one of the continent's great food and nightlife capitals, from the restaurants of Jardins to the bars of Vila Madalena and the museums along Avenida Paulista. December is warm and can be rainy, so pack light layers and a compact umbrella.
Tickets sell fast. CCXP releases badges in tiers on its official site, and the premium 'EPIC' passes — with early entry and perks — sell out first, so buy early and plan which days and panels you're targeting. Note that most panels run in Portuguese, though international guests appear throughout.
For an international visitor, CCXP is a great anchor for a Brazil trip. São Paulo is a short one-hour flight from Rio de Janeiro's beaches and landmarks, making it easy to pair the convention with a few days on the coast. A few practicals: bring a portable charger and comfortable shoes for the enormous floor, and some cash, though cards and Pix (Brazil's instant-payment system) are ubiquitous. Check the official CCXP site for the schedule, guest announcements and ticket tiers as December approaches.
