MagicCon: Amsterdam 2026

MagicCon: Amsterdam is the European flagship of the 2026 MagicCon circuit, held at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre over a mid-July weekend. Its timing is a gift to traveling players: high summer in one of Europe's most walkable, bike-friendly cities, with the convention a short tram ride from the canals, museums and cafés of the centre.

Amsterdam is best known among Magic fans for its Artists' Alley. Many of the illustrators behind the game's most beloved cards live and work in Europe, and this is the single best place in the world to get cards signed, buy original paintings and prints, or commission a custom sketch or full alter. The European cosplay scene is world-class too — the MagicCon Cosplay Contest here regularly features Planeswalkers and legendary creatures rendered in astonishing detail. Add a live competitive stage with a Pro Tour and its Top 8, the casual Command Zone buzzing with Commander games, panels and set previews, and a vendor floor packed with singles and collectibles, and it's a complete weekend whether you're competing or just soaking it in.

The RAI is a large, modern venue with excellent transport links: it has its own tram and metro stop, and Schiphol Airport is under fifteen minutes away by direct train. Amsterdam fills up in summer, so book accommodation as early as you lock in your badge — central hotels near the RAI or along the tram lines are the most convenient. Tickets and the collector badge tiers are sold ahead of time on Magic.gg, and the premium packages sell out first.

Give yourself a day or two on either side of the event to enjoy the city — it rewards it. The RAI is a straight tram ride from the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the canal ring, and Amsterdam is compact enough to see a lot on foot or by bike. A practical note for international visitors: bring a European plug adapter and some cash for smaller vendors and artists, though cards are widely accepted.
