Seoul POPCON

Seoul POPCON is an international pop-culture convention in the South Korean capital, held at COEX — the giant convention-and-mall complex in the Gangnam district at the very centre of Seoul. The 2026 edition runs August 14–16. It brings comics and webtoons, video games, anime, film and television, collectibles and cosplay together into one weekend, and it carries a distinctly Korean flavour of geek culture: webtoons, K-content and a world-leading games industry sit right alongside the global franchises that fans everywhere love.

COEX is one of the easiest big venues to reach anywhere in the world. It sits directly above Samseong Station on the Seoul Metro (Line 2), is ringed by hotels, and shares its complex with the COEX Aquarium, the enormous Starfield COEX Mall, and the famous Byeolmadang Library with its soaring, photogenic bookshelves — so there is plenty to do in the gaps between halls, and the whole thing is comfortably air-conditioned against the summer heat. For a geek traveler, Seoul POPCON is a perfect anchor for a Korea trip, because Seoul is itself a gaming and pop-culture capital.
